Just thought I would post this here incase anyone hadn't read it or whatever
It was written for the 3 word challenge and as you can probably guess since you're in my area, it's a Jason one
You Do Something To MeJosie immediately jumped up to answer her room door which had just been knocked, knowing exactly who it would be
“Josie!” the girls screamed as she opened the door and gave her a massive hug
“Hey what’s with the face” Gemma asked as her smile turned to a frown
“The guys are here, in this hotel I’m guessing they must be staying here!” Josie said telling them of the discovery she had made last night
“What? No!” Adele gasped
“Yes I saw Howard yesterday and Mark although they didn’t see me, but we’re gonna run into them at some point aren’t we? They’ll probably be here the same amount of days as us…”
“Yeah I’m sure you will at some point, I’ve just had a though, did you invite she who shall not be named to stay here?” Gemma asked
“Yes I invited Lisa to stay here and whatever happened is in the past so please just leave it and try and be nice when she gets here tomorrow ok?”
“Fine”
“Anyway never mind that, we’ve brought some champagne and stuff to get the party started; after all you’re getting married on Saturday that’s only three days for us to all get pissed as single women!” Adele grinned waving the bottle in front of Josie’s face as they sat down and opened the champagne pouring it into three glasses
The next morning three girls woke up with very sore heads and looking like something that had just crawled up from the bottom of a lake! After much moaning and groaning and getting breakfast brought to their room they made themselves look half human and waited on Lisa arriving. Lisa and Josie had been really good mates up until that weekend all those years ago and since then up until last year they had hardly spoken but Josie wanted Lisa at her wedding, time had made her be able to forgive Lisa and so they started chatting again and the rest is history!
“Lisa!” Josie grinned
“Hiya! Looks like I’ve already missed some of the party, you lot look bloody awful!” Lisa said
“Thanks, but yeah we had a heavy night last night, eurgh I feel rough”
“Right well a bit of shopping should cheer us up are we ready to hit the town?”
“Yeah but I feel I should tell you something though, the guys are staying here in this hotel”
“What guys?”
“Well I saw Howard and Mark yesterday…”
“Ah well let’s just hope we don’t run in to them and enjoy the weekend!”
Off they all went outside to the taxi that was waiting to take them into town, laughing and joking as they stepped in and the taxi pulled away…all the time they had been watched by two pairs of eyes.
Thursday night brought a drink session in the bar, they sat and had a laugh and a giggle about Josie’s old boyfriends, some who were really undesirable and some who they even wondered if they were human, but they were pleased for her now she had found her match in James and they seemed perfect together. As it was getting later the bar was emptying and all that could be heard was the girls raucous laughter as the barman watched with great delight, every so often having a little laugh at the girls behaviour. Josie made her way up to the bar ordering another round of drinks and then patiently waiting on the barman making them.
“Put them on our tab” a voice said from behind, she didn’t need to turn around she would know that soft voice anywhere…that soft Mancunian accent. She felt his shoulder brush against hers as he stood beside her at the bar, but Josie couldn’t even bring herself to look at him
“It’s been a long time” he said quietly
“Yeah” she said finally turning to look at him, into those big blue eyes that had hypnotised her many times before
“You look great Josie, how’s life been treating you? And what are you doing here?
“I’m fine thanks, I’m getting married here on Saturday so we’re having a few girly days before the big event”
“Oh” he said as the two of them stood looking at each other
“I better get back to my friends, nice seeing you Jay” as she turned she saw that the rest of the lads were already sat at a table with the girls and Jason followed her to the table
“Josie” Gary grinned “Nice to see you again luv”
“Yeah you too Gary”
The rest of the night was spent catching up on old times and present day, the only one thing that was never mentioned was that weekend that still brought Josie sad times until this very day…
Josie was the first one up in the morning and decided to venture down to the restaurant for some breakfast. As soon as she walked in her eyes were drawn to the table where Jason was sitting looking out the window.
“Hey Josie” he shouted “Come and join me”
“Ok” she smiled and sat down next to Jason
“So no show today then?” she asked trying to make conversation
“No, day off today and I’m glad because my back’s killing me!” he laughed
“Yeah you’re not getting any younger, maybe you should go for a massage or something”
“You used to be good at that” he winked
“Don’t Jason, just bloody don’t” she snapped
“Don’t what?”
“You know what, it’s inappropriate, I’m getting married tomorrow”
“Yeah” he said, dipping his head down, looking into his tea cup “So you’re happy then?”
“Very” she replied
“Look I’m sorry about what happened but you know we were young and stupid and…”
“It doesn’t matter now” Josie replied quickly not letting herself think of all the good times they had shared, they’re conversation was interrupted when the rest of the girls walked in with Mark and Gary and they all sat together eating breakfast, talking about the tour and the wedding.
“So Josie, big day tomorrow eh? Who is the luck guy then?” Gary asked
“His name is James and we met a couple of years ago, through work and yeah well the rest as they say is history!”
“Right so do we get to meet him and see if he’s an eligible enough suitor for our Jo?”
“He’s arriving tomorrow morning so I guess you might do” she winked
“Aw well I’m glad you’re happy and it’s been great bumping into you lot again, catching up and that”
“Here was me thinking I’d never have to see you again!” Josie rolled her eyes playfully
“Bloody cheek!” Mark said poking his tongue out
“You’re face will stay like that pixie” Josie said ruffling his hair
“Right we’ll be off then, so we’ll see you later alright?”
“Yeah ok have a good day” Josie grinned and the other girls waved as the guys left
“We have to do something too, so we’ll be back as soon as we can ok Josie?” Lisa asked
“What? You’re leaving me here myself?”
“Yeah but we have booked you in for a massage this morning as a treat”
“Aw thanks girls, sounds fab”
They all hugged and went their separate ways arranging to meet up later that day.
Josie lay on the table, as the masseuse worked her magic over her tired and weary muscles, gently easing away all the knots and stresses which had seeped into her body whilst she was planning this wedding, it was bloody stressful and she was glad you only did it once. But as she lay there, her thoughts had turned to Jason again, all those years ago it was like he’d had a power over her and now even though there was nothing going on and she hadn’t seen him for years it was like he was doing it again. Her heart had literally skipped a beat when she had seen him for the first time at the hotel and even though he looked older, a few more lines; he was still her Jay, he looked as handsome as ever and still had the ladies swooning over him, she had seen it with over excited fans in the hotel. She also knew he was still single and wondered why, was it because he was still playing the field? Or had he done to someone else what he had done to her? The thought of the situation brought a few tears to here eyes and then suddenly she realised she was being spoken to…
“Miss…Miss that’s you done now and I hope everything goes well for you tomorrow”
“Oh, sorry was miles away then must be your healing powers!” Josie laughed “Thanks that was bliss, just what I needed” she smiled leaving the health area and wandering off outside into the fresh air as she sat on the small wall, all alone with her thoughts again
“Hey” It was that voice again
“Hiya” she sighed and then carried on looking out over the scenery that surrounded them
“You ok? That was a big sigh?”
“Yeah I’m fine” After a few minutes pause she decided that now was the time “Why?” she asked
“Why?” he asked with a puzzled look
“Yeah why did you do it Jay?”
“Oh” he said as he looked away and took a deep breath
“You know what forget it, it doesn’t matter now anyway” Josie said
“No I want to talk about this we should have talked about it at the time”
“Ok go on then”
“Look I don’t know how it happened, I know that sounds really lame but just let me finish yeah. I had gone upstairs after the party cos it was late and I was tired and drunk”
“I know you called me” Josie giggled at the memory of the conversation “What was it you said again…something about Pink Floyd and me being the brick in your incomplete wall” she burst out laughing
“Ok, ok enough I was drunk! Anyway I called you because I was really missing you, I know we had only been going out a few months but I knew right from the first time I saw you that I loved you”
“Funny way of bloody showing it” Josie mumbled
“So anyway I got back to me room, stripped off climbed in the shower and then got into bed, when I got in Lisa was already in there…don’t ask me how because she wasn’t in there when I had entered the room. One thing led to another I don’t think you want the details and I know I shouldn’t have done it but something just took over. It was the biggest mistake I’ve ever made and as you know she was only trying to use me to get to Mark”
“I know she was , we didn’t speak again since that time until last year you know, I hated her for what she had done” Josie said as the tears threatened to spill down her cheeks
“Look I’m really sorry I just want you to know that”
“Yeah sorry cos you got caught!”
“No I think you know why I’m sorry and why it was a huge mistake”
Josie stared at him blankly, his eyes piercing straight into her suddenly making her feel a bit flustered
“Josie I’ve never had any proper girlfriends since us, you get me now?”
“I…but…I…” she got up and ran to her room, if only they had somehow been able to talk like this at the time but she had left and nobody knew where she had gone, it was her own fault for being so pig headed and stubborn. She turned on her computer to try and take her mind off things, noticing she had an email from James she opened it and read:
I hope you’re having a brilliant weekend hun and not getting too drunk! LOL Anyway I’ll see you tomorrow sweetheart when I finally get to make you mine forever, we’re going to be so happy! Then we get the honeymoon so we can start working on some little James or Josie’s
Love always
James xxxoxI burst into tears and sat there sobbing, a few minutes later the girls came in
“Josie are you alright, whatever is the matter?” Gemma asked
“Yeah come on it can’t be that bad” Adele said passing me a tissue and sitting down next to me
“I…James…and then Jason…chat…all wrong…so stubborn…and I was a complete and utter idiot…” she said through sobs
“Ok you want to start that again cos you’re making no sense” Gemma giggled
“It’s all your bloody fault” I yelled as I stood up and pointed at Lisa
“Me?” she looked at Josie knowing that this moment probably had to come some day
“Yes you, you knew I was going out with Jason and how I felt about him and you muscled your way in there! You didn’t even want him so how in the hell did you think sleeping with Jason was going to get you Mark? You were a right little slut back in them days” Josie shouted, the small vein in the side of her neck was pulsing like a monster that was waiting to be unleashed and she stood and watched as tears started to come from Lisa’s eyes
“Here come the waterworks, that’s it try and make us all feel sorry for you! Well I don’t, not one bit you ruined everything, everything!!!” Josie screamed before finally falling back onto the bed
“Look I know I was a right little bitch but it takes two and I mean he could have said no…”
“Don’t you even dare Lisa, you climbed into his bed, if you hadn’t done that he would never have slept with you and you took advantage when he was drunk”
“Oh yeah cos Jason’s perfect, this is all my fault. Even after what happened you’re still defending him…Oh my God you still love him don’t you? You sad little cow you’ve loved him for all these years and never done anything about it!” she sniggered
“Right that’s it, I want you out of here right now, in fact I want you out of the hotel within the next hour or so help me God…” Gemma shouted in Lisa’s face before she ‘escorted’ her to the door slamming it shut just as she was about to speak
“Come on Jo” Adele said trying to comfort her, there was a heavy silence filling the air for at least a few minutes before anyone spoke again
“Is what she said true Jo, you still love him?” Gemma asked
“I’ve always had feelings for him if I’m being honest”
“But you love James” Adele added
“Yeah” I smiled
“I’m sure you’re just getting jittery about tomorrow and when you get in the room in your gorgeous dress and see James in his manly kilt and all your friends and relatives…”
“Don’t forget about the two most stunning bridesmaids ever” Adele winked making them all laugh
“You know what guys I’m sure you’re right. I think I just need to get some rest today, a good night’s sleep and then I’ll be fine in the morning. You are the bestest friends I could ever ask for, you know that?”
“Of course we know that” Gemma giggled and then we had a group hug. They left me alone for the rest of the night and I lay there thinking about James and Jason and what the girls had said. I had always tried to push Jason to the back of my mind and as soon as I got with James it had started to get easier, but now when I had looked at Jason he still made me feel things I had never felt with anyone else, and that was just with a look; no physical contact or even words. As the night drew on and I glanced at my dress hanging neatly in it’s protective case, I bawled my eyes out. Suddenly everything tomorrow was starting to feel like a sham to me and that I had always settled for second best since I had been with Jason…I flicked on my Ipod and the first song that came on now seemed to make me cry more than ever.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uc_rAX6z9YcThe sound of her mobile phone bleeping was what alerted Josie to the fact it was morning, she rubbed her puffy eyes and picked it up from the pillow on the other side of the bed where she had left it sometime in the early hours of the morning. It was a text from James saying he couldn’t wait to see her in her dress and then help her out of it later on tonight! She half smiled, one part of her wanted to be really excited and jittery about the days events and the other part of her had been having dreams for the past couple of hours and in every scenario that she had dreamt Jason had been by her side and not James. She mentally gave herself a shake
“Come on Josie” her subconscious said “This is ridiculous! You love James and you’re marrying him today, get a bloody grip woman” but her subconscious seemed to have a good Josie and a naughty one!
“I know what you’d like to get a grip of” her naughty subconscious said
“Oh God I’ve got to stop this, James is a great guy and he really loves me”
“Pfft You Know Jason loves you, he so much as said it yesterday”
